The NFB’s mandate is to produce and distribute creative, socially and culturally resonant audio-visual works that provide new perspectives on Canada and the world from Canadian points of view. NFB productions offer special insight into the diversity and vitality of our culture and are an essential part of our national cultural heritage.

The North West Studio produces and co-produces documentary, animation and interactive works with filmmakers and digital artists from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut – a vast territory that contains many different stories and points of view. In recent years, the studio has produced a string of acclaimed films and interactive projects from artists throughout the region.
