Shirley Frost is a member of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation and is a committed community volunteer who is involved in a myriad of projects and organizations that have had far reaching benefits for Yukon First Nations. She is a founding member of the Whitehorse Aboriginal Women’s Circle, was the long time Chair for National Aboriginal Day Celebrations, and was a board member for the Commissioners Potlatch Society. Shirley was also the Chair for North Yukon Land Use Planning Commission that developed the first Land Use Plan under Chapter 11 of the UFA. Shirley sat on the Board of Governors for Yukon College and has been the YFN representative on the Yukon Land Use Planning Council for 15 years. Shirley is the Chair for the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association, an organization she has been involved in for many years.
