Shirley​ ​Frost​ ​is​ ​a​ ​member​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Vuntut​ ​Gwitchin​ ​First​ ​Nation​ ​and​ ​is​ ​a​ ​committed​ ​community volunteer​ ​who​ ​is​ ​involved​ ​in​ ​a​ ​myriad​ ​of​ ​projects​ ​and​ ​organizations​ ​that​ ​have​ ​had​ ​far​ ​reaching benefits​ ​for​ ​Yukon​ ​First​ ​Nations.​ ​​ ​She​ ​is​ ​a​ ​founding​ ​member​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Whitehorse​ ​Aboriginal Women’s​ ​Circle,​ ​was​ ​the​ ​long​ ​time​ ​Chair​ ​for​ ​National​ ​Aboriginal​ ​Day​ ​Celebrations,​ ​and​ ​was​ ​a board​ ​member​ ​for​ ​the​ ​Commissioners​ ​Potlatch​ ​Society.​ ​Shirley​ ​was​ ​also​ ​the​ ​Chair​ ​for​ ​North Yukon​ ​Land​ ​Use​ ​Planning​ ​Commission​ ​that​ ​developed​ ​the​ ​first​ ​Land​ ​Use​ ​Plan​ ​under​ ​Chapter 11​ ​of​ ​the​ ​UFA.​ ​​ ​Shirley​ ​sat​ ​on​ ​the​ ​Board​ ​of​ ​Governors​ ​for​ ​Yukon​ ​College​ ​and​ ​has​ ​been​ ​the​ ​YFN representative​ ​on​ ​the​ ​Yukon​ ​Land​ ​Use​ ​Planning​ ​Council​ ​for​ ​15​ ​years.​ ​​ ​Shirley​ ​is​ ​the​ ​Chair​ ​for the​ ​Yukon​ ​First​ ​Nations​ ​Culture​ ​and​ ​Tourism​ ​Association,​ ​an​ ​organization​ ​she​ ​has​ ​been involved​ ​in​ ​for​ ​many​ ​years.
